Labor Day: What to Wear to All Weekend Events

Labor day is a very bitter sweet holiday. On one end it marks the official end of summer yet on the other hand it means an extra day off to relax and celebrate the season’s last day.

So instead of stressing what to wear or pack (for those going away), I have curated a simple guide for what to wear to ALL the traditional Labor Day events. The majority of these pieces are ones that most likely already exist in your closet.

If you don’t already own them, you can shop them by simply clicking the article of clothing. I made sure that all these items come from retailers that offer FREE two-day shipping to guarantee these looks make it in time for the holiday!

All White Event

When it comes to wearing all white it is important that the pieces you wear have textures or fabrics that create design elements that make you stand out in a sea of white! If all you have in your closet is a LWD (little white dress), than accessorize like CRAZY! Add a bold necklace, statement earrings, shiny clutch and/or even a headpiece.

Backyard Barbecue

I love to keep it casual, comfortable and cute for barbecues since they usually start in the afternoon and go into the night time. A denim skirt, with cute sneakers and a comfy, graphic tee is my way to go! PRO TIP: I highly recommend taking a crossbody to barbecues so you can use both hands efficiently at the buffet.

Day By the Water

I personally love a good cover up: an oversized dress, skirt or pants to throw over your bathing suit! If I am going to the beach, I always take a huge tote to carry my sunscreens, hoodie and any extras if the day turns into night! Remember to reapply sunscreen throughout the day and wear a large, chic hat to protect your skin and avoid wrinkles!

Dinner, Drinks & Fireworks

The long weekend calls for an extra night to go out and grab dinner or drinks with friends and family! I personally love this look because it is so flattering and gives that effortlessly chic look! If you don’t own a pair of bellbottom jeans, you should really get yourself a pair. They go amazingly with a slinky, silk cami or basic, white tee and sneakers for the day or pumps for night!

Have a fun safe labor day!
